Under the Shadow's Eye - Dreamweaver Diaries, #1

Parfois, c'est difficile en tant que personnage de soutien: vous êtes sur la touche, et vous ne pouvez pas être là pour la plupart des trucs amusants. Vous entendez parler de toutes les bonnes choses qui se passe, mais vous ne faites jamais partie de cela.

Les acteurs sont presque conditionnés à obtenir l'approbation de leur réalisateur. « J'ai juste fait ma chanson et ma danse, patron. Qu'as-tu pensé?' Les acteurs sont tellement infantilisés.

C'est assez étonnant de voir quelque chose dans votre tête et de l'écrire, de le tirer, puis de le voir sur grand écran. C'est un sentiment assez étonnant.

Vous rêvez de faire partie de projets vraiment solides.

J'ai joué des gens horribles et fait des choses horribles, et il y a eu des moments sur «The Knick» où c'était super inconfortable - certaines des choses que je devais faire et dire.

En tant qu'interprète, je suis heureux si une personne peut voir le travail que je fais, mais que beaucoup de gens le voient et l'apprécient, ça fait du bien.

La meilleure chose à propos de ces films Hallmark est que mon père les aime. Mon père regarde tous ces films de Noël, pas seulement ceux dans lesquels je suis. Il les regarde tous, donc le premier que j'ai fait, c'était comme mon cadeau de Noël à mon père.

J'ai joué ma juste part de méchants, ou du moins le Némésis.

Lorsque beaucoup de gens regardent ces spectacles de l'ère victorienne, ils sont amoureux des costumes, de la romance, de tout le balayage de tout cela. Mais il n'y a rien de nostalgique dans le «Knick».

Ayant grandi au Canada, aucune de ma famille n'était interprète ou quelque chose comme ça, mais j'étais terrible au hockey, donc ils avaient besoin de quelque chose pour moi le samedi pour que je sois de sortir de la maison. Je me suis inscrit à l'école de théâtre le samedi, et j'irais pendant quatre heures et demie chaque samedi matin et j'apprendrais le théâtre.

L'une des choses qui me rend fou est que vous obtenez rarement des méchants qui sont très bien écrits.

Cela ne fait pas du bien d'être une personne horrible, violente et misogyne.

J'avais un ami qui avait fait le cinéma pour «Splinter Cell: Conviction», alors il m'a en quelque sorte endoctriné dans la série. J'ai fait un tas de trucs de température pour lui - j'ai brouillé des trucs dans le jeu pour lui, en jouant à neuf personnages - juste pour qu'il avait des modèles de personnages à partir desquels travailler.

Je me rends compte que je vis dans une bulle, et toutes les opportunités sont là pour moi. Et après avoir fait un certain nombre de séries télévisées populaires, je suis légèrement célèbre dans certaines situations et beaucoup de portes m'ouvrent.

À la fin de la journée, vous dites les lignes et jouez à faire semblant. Tout ce qui varie d'un spectacle à l'autre est le niveau de l'intensité et les termes des attentes que vous vous placez.

J'ai fait mon premier jeu professionnel à 11 ans, et il n'y avait vraiment rien d'autre que je rêvais de faire. Je me sentais tellement chanceux que je savais à l'âge de 12 ans, comme si c'était tout ce que je veux faire pour le reste de ma vie; C'est le seul jeu. Il n'y a pas de plan de sauvegarde. Ma maman voulait que j'allais à l'école et que j'aie un plan de sauvegarde. Je suis comme «Non, c'est le seul plan».

Les films sont une grande chose dans notre maison. Chaque vendredi, nous faisons une soirée de pizza familiale, et nous faisons des pizzas à partir de zéro, puis nous nous asseyons et regardons un film.

Vous ne pouvez pas simplement blâmer les choses sur le mal. Tout le monde est un humain, donc quand les gens disent que quelqu'un se comporte «inhumain», ce n'est pas le cas. C'est très humain - ce n'est tout simplement pas un très beau côté de celui-ci.
