Although Czerny is best known today for his pianistic exercises, he was prolific composer, reaching opus 961 during his compositional life. The "Eisenbahn Variationen" are a wonderful set of variations, showing off Czerny's compositional style - a mix of classical, romantic, virtuosic, and always highly pianistic. --- Obwohl Czerny heute hauptsächlich für seine Klavierübungen bekannt ist, war er ein sehr produktiver Komponist, der im Laufe seiner Karriere Opus 961 erreichte.
