Brexit, what does it imply for financial law?

Publié par Larcier, le 26 février 2020

171 pages

Résumé

Brexit, an unknown concept before 29 March 2017. On that date, the United Kingdom expressed its formal wish to leave the European Union. In the ensuing months, it gradually became clear that the negotiations on a withdrawal agreement and the broad principles for a post-Brexit cooperative model would be a difficult and complex exercise. This publication brings together a set of legal analyses which attempt to give an insight into the - at times - radical changes to the legal relationships between financial services providers and clients or counterparties, in which one of the two contract parties is no longer part of the EU and thus out of the European legal system.
