Résumé
Fine observer of animals and a pionner in the field of wildlife photography, George Shiras has also been the first one to reveal, by astonishing flash photographs taken at the turn of the 20th century, the nocturne life of animals in the forest. From mobile shots on his canoe to photographic tricks he developed (when the animal triggers itself the shot by running into a thread), he was able to capture deers, lynx, porcupines,a dn various birds. This first monograph allows us to rediscover the work of George Shiras. In an intimate format, it features a selection of photographs enriched with a poetical essay by philosopher and author Jean-Christophe Bailly.
