Résumé
This book and exhibition, the result of several years of work in collaboration with the Zentrum Paul Klee in Bern, is based on what is perhaps one of the research projects on the most important artist of the last decades: the latest critique edition of the so-called "educational legacy" of Klee. The book articulates a selection of 137 works including paintings, watercolors and drawings, made between 1899 and 1940, with almost a hundred handwritten notes selected from classes Klee at the Bauhaus, representing each of the 24 chapters that Klee compose texts. It also has objects and documents ranging from vintage photographs to the herbaria of the artist, his readings and documentary sources of his thoughts, his writings, his sketchbooks and publications, a varied material adequately contextualized life and work at the Bauhaus in Weimar and Dessau and helps highlight the influences between his theory and his practice throughout his life.
